This really caught my attention and even though I don’t have any children of my own yet, I would want them to turn out with a strong set of values that reflects their inner grace. Loved this so I’m re-blogging ❤

8 Lessons I Want to Teach My Daughter

Woman walking over bridge with girl

These are eight lessons I want to teach my daughter. I have learned these through many mistakes, periods of introspection and learning in my life.

My hope for her is to live authentically, passionately and gracefully.

1. If someone hurts you, don’t take it personally

Chances are, they have been hurt themselves. In fact, never take anything personally. Don’t let compliments get to your head and don’t let criticism get you down. It is a known fact that most people can only give others what they have received themselves.

All your actions and words should come from a place of love. But not everyone will be loving back. And that is OK.

      • Ready? I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever be “ready” for that, but I know I can do it. I’ve been more of a mother to my nephew than an aunt. I’ve been a part time mom in that respect for a greater part of two years now so… I guess if you looked at it like that I am, lol. I’m also aware that I’m still young and there is a lot I want to be able to do. I am still very much career focused regardless if I associate myself as a mom or not. I mean my nephew calls me Mama Misha! lol But omg you should hear the conversations I have with my parents about this stuff. My mom wants more grand kids and my dad prefers me to be single and successful with no children, lol. By the end of the conversation both of them agree with each-other and I’m left with a dumb stare and total confusion, lol.

      • Tee hee ….. How can you have both? Single with no kids, career orientated and with kids? Your parents really need therapy on what they are agreeing on. This is too funny. I would have a dumb stare on my face as well. And yes, confusion. Wow! Do your parents even get it that they are agreeing to opposites? LOL LOL LOL xx Amy

      • I don’t know please explain this to me! lol I honestly don’t think they do because they stop and ask me what I want? I’m aware that any answer I give them will be wrong so I just say “I don’t know”, lol. Of course they look at me nodding their heads and I can hear what they’re thinking! “She’s too young to know what she wants.” LOL Story of my life when my parents decided to give me a pep talk. I silently laugh at them and try and convince them that I’m taking what they say very seriously… if they only knew 😛 hehe
